CT-112 is an octapeptide sequence with demonstrated
anti-inflammatory activity when administered either orally or
parenterally. The CT-112 peptide is derived from human platelet
factor 4 (PF4 or CXCL4) and was identified through investigation of
α‑chemokines that affect the movement of inflammatory cells into
sites of tissue injury. Oral activity and anti-inflammatory
properties of CT-112 have been corroborated by multiple external
laboratories, and preclinical safety studies reveal very favorable
profiles for a CT-112 therapeutic. CT-112 may be particularly useful
for therapeutic intervention into inflammatory mediated disease such
as, but not limited to, autoimmune diseases, graft versus host
disease, COPD, reperfusion injury and artherosclerosis. Cytomedix
currently is preparing IND submissions to be filed in early 2009.
