Leukocyte Settings

angel

Broad range of platelet concentrations

Angel produces a highly concentrated PRP sample using a 7% hematocrit setting (≥18x baseline). Following the Standard PPP Dilution Protocol, Angel delivers a PRP preparation containing concentrated platelets approximately 6x-8x baseline. Custom protocols offer clinicians a broad range of procedure-specific options with a user-defined range of platelet and leukocyte concentrations.

7% 80% x 18 (diluted to 7x by adding PPP)
2% 99% x 12 (diluted to 5x by adding PPP)

Certain leukocyte populations such as neutrophils have densities that overlap that of red blood cells while others such as B and T lymphocytes reside in the buffy-coat fraction that floats on the red cell pack.

To produce a neutrophil-depleted, platelet-rich PRP, select the 2% hematocrit setting.

Further decreases and increases in total leukocytes in the final PRP, can be achieved by adjusting the Angel hematocrit settings between 0-25%.
